Boudica (also spelled Boudicca, formerly better known as Boadicea) (d. AD 60 or 61 ) was a queen of theIceni people of Norfolk in Eastern Britain who led an uprising of the tribes against the occupying forces of theRoman Empire.
The torc was a sign of nobility and high social status: a decoration awarded to warriors for their deeds in battle, as well as a divine attribute, since some depictions of Celtic gods wear one or more torcs.
